Geometric transformations map a figure to a new position or shape using one of four rules: translation (slide by a vector ⟨h, k⟩), rotation (turn θ° around a centre), reflection (mirror across a line), and dilation (scale by factor k from a centre). The first three are isometries — they preserve distance and angle, producing a congruent image. Dilation is the only one that changes size, producing a similar image with ratio k. The calculators below take a set of vertex coordinates and apply each transformation, returning the new coordinates, the new figure's area / perimeter, and (for compositions) the equivalent single transformation. Useful for plotting transformations on a coordinate grid, verifying congruence/similarity in proof problems, and confirming exam answers without recomputing every vertex by hand.
